I mean it is capitalism, plain and simple. If someone can provide me with a superior service at a reasonable price, I will pay for it. If I can get something for free that is better than what I would have to pay for it, why should I pay for it? Its not logical.

Why do you think I buy so many Blu-Rays?  Even the illegal infrastructure isn't there to support HD piracy with quick speeds, storage capacity, and compatability between devices.  I cannot get the quality I want for free.  Therefore, I am willing to pay money for it.  Its really quite simple.  Offer me a superior service and I will pay for it.  Offer me an inferior service and I won't.

Because you are stealing.

It’s a lot easier for me to walk into a grocery store and just take some food, then it is to wait in line, get out my credit card or cash, talk to the checkout lady, and so on.

Are you saying that it’s the requirement of the grocery store to make it as convenient for me to buy my food as it is to shoplift, otherwise shoplifting is acceptable?

Piracy by downloading software over the internet is anonymous and leaves little or no evidence and  there is low risk of ever being caught. Physically stealing by shop lifting leaves physical evidence - camers and witnesses can see you in action and is high risk of being caught.
