Let's be fair here: it's not only PS3 fans :)
People just trust too much these cooked screenshots, the same happens all the time with Gears where incredibly well antialiased shots with not a bad texture in sight are brough forth in pissing contests.
I personally don't trust anything but gameplay videos, and even those are generally cooked to remove frame tearing (I learned on Digital Foundry that MS even has a rule mandating such processing for game trailers on XBL)
