I think they will make another console but this time they are going to adopt Nintendo's business model of making a profit on day 1. The next console is going to target everybody instead of just 12 - 25 males. There is just too much to be made in the video game industry to pass it up. But I don't think it is farfetched for Sony to drop out when they lost so much money on the PS3.
So expect a console that is cheaper in cost, cheaper in hardware, and most likely having some kind of motion controls simliar to the Wiimote.
