I agree with that.
There are shooters (CoD, Metroid?, etc..), racers (can't think of any "good" ones off the top of my head, but NFS will be one of them) & sports games (more of these + WiiSports, which I think definitely counts). But in general the PS3 & 360 are vastly superior to the Wii in these genres.
No question that the Wii still doesn't appeal to "some" gamers. But it does appeal to "most" gamers, as well as being the most appealing console to "non-gamers".
And at the same time, I would suggest that the 360 appeals more to hardcore gamers (including people that want to pick up a shooter, racer or sports game) than the PS3 does.
This leaves the PS3 in the middle of a classic "pincer" movement - almost as if it was orchestrated by MS & Ninty.

Again - the PS3 has a decent (if not strong) software lineup for Xmas - just not one that really compares to what either MS or Ninty have.
