Sony never sold the publishing rights, they never had them in the first place, Universal did. Sony bought Insomnic, so Universal kept the license and obviously wouldn't give it back to Insomnic since they were no longer partners.
And SOCOM is a fine game, it just had a rough start with lag. It's been fine for a while actually. I played for over 2 hours today. Do you even own the game?
