I honestly can't believe there is even debate over this.

IMO the 360 lineup is the strongest(?) - but only just - over the Wii lineup. Then there is daylight between both consoles and the PS3.

When measuring and comparing lineups you need to:

1/ Look at the "genre" spread of titles. This determines potential "console seller status" of the lineup. Wii easily comes first, then both the 360/PS3 are close further behind.

2/ Look at the marketing power of the big titles to be released for each console. This is where the 360 wins out - purely thanks to Halo. The Wii isn't far behind with Galaxy & Brawl (and Metroid to a lesser extent). The PS3 basically has nothing - except maybe for Prologue. R&C isn't even on the radar.

3/ Look at the hype level for exclusive titles. Apart from the titles mentioned in #2, the 360 has Mass Effect - which will be huge. The Wii has RE:UC, Zak & Wiki, NiGHTS, M&S @ Olympics. The PS3 has Uncharted, R&C... and that's about it? I don't think either Haze or UT3 really count. Maybe HOME - but its not a boxed title, and is a general unknown at this point?

4/ Look at the sheer number of titles hitting for each console. Wii 1st, 360 2nd - PS3 3rd.

5/ Look at the cost (and perceived cost & value) of each console. Wii > 360 > PS3.

(this analysis is primarily for the US market, but Europe isn't that different. The 360 is obviously weaker in Japan).

...

The PS3 basically comes last in every category - so how is its lineup better than either the 360/Wii?

If people strongly disagree I recommend someone starts a new thread, and we can debate this there. This thread started off really well, but has lost all context over the last 30 posts :P
