So true. Mediocre parody is a lot better than mediocre epic. Add that to the fact that the main guy was actually not overacting and pretty natural and funny sounding. And that most of us non-japanese speakers have watched that entire cutscene with pretty much no idea what's going on, but hoping it's something cool. That was hilarious!
It also plays on the fear (which probably a lot of fans have) that Surfer Boy there is going to be just that vapid, only serious... fingers crossed.
Of course, no matter how good it is, there is no way I'm going to be able to play that scene in the final game without thinking of this clip :)
