You're not looking at the bigger picture Skee, GT3 got its final sales from selling well over the years, benefitting the big PS2 install base.

 

PS3 won't have 100 million units sold ... or anywhere close to that.

well i just checked and gt3 launched when ps2 was at roughly 12-14 million

gt3 was the 1st gt on a new nex gen system during that time. i feel gt5 will be even more anticipated by gamers and will sell in terrific numbers in all reigons.

those who want the game will deffo buy it straight away, the rest of the sales will come over the lifetime of the console.

heres a good example, halo 2 sold over 8 million lifetime with a 25million install base. and halo 3 has sold more than that with a near 30 million install base.

so can it be possible that gt5 can sell as much as gt3 if not more lifetime?

 

You miss my point, GT3 sold well during its life because PS2's were flying off the shelves and eventually got to an install base of 120+ million.

Lots of potential GT3 buyers there .. the same cannot be said for the PS3. Because its going to be a stretch to reach 80 million.
