Cause the average person doesnt know how to download HD movies, or any movie for that matter. Or they dont care to. By your logic a lot of things arent necessary. Shoot, video games arent really necessary but we all buy them.

 

The people who don't know how to download movies are the same people who could care less about Blu Ray's....

that's not entirely true. Someone could own a vcr and not know how to record.

The "average" person owns an HDTV, enjoys watching movies in HiDef, doesn't know how to download movies, own a VCR and don't know how to hit "record".. ??

This is your average person in your world?

You guys should also put this into consideration. Not all people have a fast internet connection.
