We know that the PPE in the Cell is basically the same as a core in the X360 CPU, right (as stated by many professionals). From there, you can easily derive the performance of each SPE vs one X360 core at certain tasks.

We also have a developer's (from Heavenly Sword) input on this. He says that EACH SPE/SPU and run circles around a X360 core (XeCPU) on decently written code.
Of course, the people that don't want to believe the evidence won't.
