Star Ocean 4 is better then 1 and 3.
OT: Obviously, Final Fantasy. Higher production values, longer dev times, more epic story, and worse combat system. Like Outlawaron said, compare SO to something more close to its equal.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
