While I do think a price cut would but HUGE for the PS3, lets not forget that the 360 is more than likely in just as good of a place for another price cut. If MS went for $149 for the arcade I think they would maintain their margin over a $300 PS3 (which more than likely would really be $350). Of course if Ninty ever drops the price none of this really matters. A $199 Wii would be even more unstoppable.
But yes I do think a price cut would lead to a sustained 15%-25% boost. In the end though it seems MS has more money they are willing to blow than Sony in this race. I think they would price the 360 at whatever it takes to beat Sony, even if it means $129. MS is dangerous simply because they are not afraid to lose billions to win this HD race. I don't think Sony is in the same position.
