Sure the demo sold less than the game will - but anyone who bought a PS3 *for* the demo, would have bought a PS3 *for* the full game. Therefore, those hardware sales have been brought forward. If you want to argue that the demo will result in more sales of the game, and therefore more hardware sold at launch - good luck. Its a hardcore title, and a demo will not change that. Its not like its a new franchise, that people need marketing to know about - everyone knows about it. |
This is pretty much my thinking.
It only takes a quick look at the general demographic of the people saying otherwise (with one or two exceptions) to understand their motivations.
