You have to take in to account that reasonable is a closet PS3 fanboy.
I mean he says he is reasonable but who really thinks that.

Why would pointing out PC FPS titles have more influence on FPS genre in total vs Halo be about the PS3? If anything I'm a closet PC fanboy - as in as much as I like playing Halo/Gears with friends, or KZ2 on PS3, or CoD4 on 360 and PS3 I would still state the best FPS experience is to be found on PC - whether online, offline or at a LAN party.

The biggest FPS influencer series overall are the Half Life and CoD series, period, in both sales, influence on FPS gameplay mechanics and still THE FPSs you copy from overall.

If anything Halo was as much a bad vs good influence - good in that it showed FPS really could rock on a console, bad in that it (accidently) killed invoation on console FPS as almost all console specific FPS simply try and match it. CoD4 was such as success becasue it didn't really - it was the latest in a super successful, PC orientated series of FPS and number 4 merely saw its success brought to consoles properly for the first time.

EDIT: not that I ever hid this. I'm not upset like some PC orientated FPS gamers that consoles, particularly in US/UK, are now seen by many as the main platform for FPS - I simply prefer the superior PC experience (in terms of better graphics, controls, etc. which are superior technically) vs the console advantage of sitting in a couch playing coop with buddies and low cost and ease of use for that particular genre.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
