It would seem stange that Sony would allow God of War III's release to slip past the lucrative holiday season, but we need to keep in mind that Sony is going to need a big exclusive in Q1 of next year.

December 2009
Gran Turismo 5

March 2010
God of War III

I was thinking it would be the other way around. GoW in 09, GT5 in early 2010.

If it does work out that way, Sony can't go wrong. Personally I think GOW for the holidays is better because it appeals to a younger audience who would want it as a Xmas present, whereas GT5 is for the hardcore car enthusiasts who will buy it no matter what date it comes on... less likely to be a xmas present type of game.

Either way, cant go wrong. Drop one killer app before Xmas, and another shortly after to get the new year rolling.

gt5 is bigger than GoW will ever be. therefor if you have a choice between the two for the holiday spot you go with gt5. and have GoW continue the momentum in the following months. besides look at the release dates of GoW1/2 both in march, look for GoW3 to continue that pattern.
