It would seem stange that Sony would allow God of War III's release to slip past the lucrative holiday season, but we need to keep in mind that Sony is going to need a big exclusive in Q1 of next year. It's also worth mentioning that competition is fierce during Q4 and for relatively big games that will sell millions regardless, it's sometimes better to release them during the slower seasons where competition is non-existant. Just look at Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 for reference. Sony also gets the bonus of not having it compete with the release of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 which caters to the exact same market. Pretty much how I predict Sony's lineup for the fiscal year is as follows:
September 2009
Uncharted 2: Among Theives
White Knight Chronicles
October 2009
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
M.A.G.
Demon's Souls
November 2009
Heavy Rain
EyePet
December 2009
Gran Turismo 5
March 2010
God of War III
