Well games were still made for the dreamcast and neo geo long after the consoles stopped selling. I guess the ps3 could function in such a capacity. But the market decides how long a mainstream console lasts not the company behind it, unless of course they want to be in a pit of niche irrelevance like the consoles mentioned above.
