Keeping the price of the console at $400 shows Sony are going to keep the PS3 as the main console in the Playstation family. Software sales will remain good in the future with all the firsty party games coming including the best selling PS3 game and also multi-plat games.
PS2 is in it's ninth year yet the support continues, cannot help but laugh at those whom do NOT think Sony are serious about the "10 year" plan.
