Microsoft paid Rockstar for the 2 episodes, but from the information I have been reading on the internet, Microsoft is not paying SE.

The situation that is going on is this there has always been more 360s out there than ps3s in the western world so SE cannot deny making games for the 360, they see all those 360 sales so they cannot ignore the 360 and just go ps3 exclusive like in the past when ps2 had way more systems out there than the competition.

So SE has decided to go multiplatform, Microsoft has published Infinite Undiscovery, that's the only game from SE that microsoft have put money into, as for The Last Remnant that game came out on 360 first simply because development for the 360 was easier and SE had xbox dev kits long before they had ps3 dev kits, the same thing has happened with NAMCO, Ace Combat 6, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, all came out before the ps3 versions, so it's not just SE that doing it, likewise Star Ocean 4 from SE, these games take time and you will be seeing no less than a 6 month gap to a year or longer before you see these games hit the ps3.

So it looks like SE is just putting all their games on 360 and ignoring the ps3 for whatever reason, but it's not that, its just that SE werent going to delay their games on 360 until the ps3 versions were finished, almost all the RPGs on 360 will eventually end up on the ps3.

Yes the next gen started with xbox 360 not ps3, SE didnt want to wait, neither did namco or capcom or any other developer for that matter, people have to pay their bills, and you cannot wait when you see an opportunity to make money now.
