I read an article once that said an old soviet AK47 on the black market is $3. Peoplein poor war torn countries would rather buy the AK47 and resort to a life of crime than starve. I don't know about RPGs though, but same principle.
But at the end of the day buying a weapon for those purposes is a dickhead thing to do in any situation.

I don't know if i'd agree if my family was starving and people were floating by on giant boats who had giant excesses of everything... and every day they just passed by me and my starving family.
Knowing that these ships aren't guarded and 9 times out of 10 all that happens is the people give up without a fight, and the large excessive companies pay us a bunch of money.

I'm not saying I wouldn't do it. I would probably be trying anything if I was starving, including robbing boats with a huge gun. But it's not helping the larger situation in any way, it's just causing serious problems.
To be honest I reckon the UK should go back and give the country a good ol' kickstart. Or anyone I suppose, I don't mind.

Well if anything, they are bringing the issue into international light. Hopefully some of these countries who are all over the idea of fighting rowboats (im very well aware they don't use rowboats) with destroyers will notice and try to chnange things around there afterwards. What better way to bring attention to yourself than to start stealing multimillion dollar shipments from corporations?

The problem i think is timing. Had they ramped up piracy a couple years earlier... or really just attacked America...
With the economic crisis now though... It might just be a case of destablize and forget. Maybe make covert deals with eaisly controllable but corrupt dictators and give them power.
I don't think it ends well... like it might of had it happened when the economies were better.
