The AI controls them but you can pip in and direct them to attack a certain enemy or to heal you.

You never choose their actions. At least that's what it is in the demo.

 

I hope they at least retain gambits for that purpose or at least give us a choice between the 2. AI never works the way I want in JRPGs which is why I appreciate the ffxii method.

I swear on all thats holy that if theres gambits or anything that resembles gambits, I will not get this game or any other FF for that matter!
