There isn't a "Good" side who wants to "Move the country into the future" and a "Bad" side who wants to "Move the country into the past" ... What you have is individuals and multiple groups who have very different views on what the problems facing the country are, how to handle them, and what the result of current governmental action will be. Most people who were part of the tea parties are of fairly modest/typical wealth for Americans and believe that building up massive debt is a form of taxation on the young (too young to vote) and unborn

A lot of people are worried about the active involvement the government is taking in the economy with companies like GM and the Big Banks ... They have basically ignored constitutional protections, avoided using existing structures to handle problems within the economy, and have scapegoated their "partners" the second something unpopular happened because of their intervention.

 

There are countless legitimate concerns that people have, and in the time it took you to right your post you could have read up on people's complaints and realized how horribly uninformed you are.
