@FinalEvangelion: I think people are talking about the price on the assumption that the OP was talking about having Blu-Ray on the 360 at launch.
In the next generation I'm pretty sure Blu-Ray or a similar medium will be standard (even HD-DVD is possible since it will be harder to pirate). By then drive speeds will be faster as well, either 4x or 8x speed will probably be used (18-36 MB/s).
