That's nothing, I killed The End while he was being wheeled by a henceman.
His wheelchair exploded and hit me all the way on the other side of the map.
His boss fight was later on replaced by ocelot units.
On my first play through though, I played dead, and he came out of hiding to check up on me, then I revived, and held him up for the shirt on his back. Now I had a camo that regenerates Stamina. haha
Never new about the bird thing though.

MGS3 story is really good, and you went and spoiled it for youself.
