Yep I have.  Nothing innovative.  Sure it was a fun new story and worth a purchase, but I wouldn't have died had I missed out on it.

It was the best FPS (IMO) this gen not named Gears of War, Halo, or Call of Duty. I actually prefer it to all of those (With the possible exception of Gears of War) but people would be up in arms about my opinion .

I'd say CoD is the best this generation.  Either way, you didn't exactly offer any reason to why you prefer it, or how it may actually be innovative or new (other than the story, which by now pretty much every story in every game/movie is not innovative).

I guess I based my answer/opinion on my personal experience being in the same situation as him.  I had limited time, plenty of money, and wanted to try a few games, but in the end it just didn't turn out a good idea.  I still played my 360 games much more, and only used the PS3 for seriously just Killzone 2.

That's why if he needs a blu-ray player, I recommend he grab one for $170 and disregard the PS3 until he actually would have time to spare on it, or it drops in price.  Even when I have plenty of money, that doesn't mean it can't be better used elsewhere or just saved up for other bigger things.
