North America Of course, if you're from a country that has yet to accept the notion that there are seven, or six counting 'Eurasia', continents (not likely as most of Western Europe does), then yes, the US is mistaken in using 'America'.
OT: Can't wait for this game. But, like NJ5, I'm left feeling completely inadequate after watching this. I did play the original a lot online, but I really should have played more variety of maps. |
I hope your "OT" means "ON-topic", not "Off-topic". xD I always played more through LAN (bad, bad connection, but now it's kinda of ok).
Anyone wanna bet the next one is gonna be a zerg x protoss game?

'Bout the America stuff, I believe that by then (during colonization) there wasn't any difference betwen "north", "central" and "south", neither "latin" [X]. So... this whole differentiation wasn't relevant by the time the name of the country was choosed. Oh! And what 'bout that "America for americans?"
And also... we could always say that, if there're all those (north america, central america, south america, and the so called latin america), then the entire landmass is "America".
PS.: I'm sorry for continuing desvirtuating the thread even more.
"How hard would it be to randomize facial features and skin tones? That's what we want, to feel like we're killing hundreds of different people. Not a bunch of clones or twins. We want to know, deep down, that there are hundreds of grieving mothers out there, lamenting the terror of our dreaded blade."

Sorry, I had to. And the entire, huge landmass in the Western Hemisphere is typically referred to as the 'America's'. This was done just over 100 years ago to avoid the ambiguity we're seeing now. It's generally accepted as two seperate continents now and the collective landmass is the America's.
