Warhawk isn't really a shooter. It's more focused on air/flight sim combat. Killzone 2, Resistance, and MGS4 are all good games, but I just don't feel the OP would be making a wise investment for those 3 games when he already has great alternatives. I also wouldn't consider MG Online to be a good choice for the OP. Killzone 2 and Resistance online is pretty good, though.
Since he loves shooters and online play, I think he'd be best off just keeping to his 360 and using that money for something else.
It is true that PS3 shooters use servers, which is better when it comes to lag/host advantage, but that is a per game decision. If MS wanted dedicated servers for a game, they could easily be done. They just aren't practical in most instances where player count is 16 or less. Higher than 16 definitely benefits a great deal from dedicated servers, though.

Those are all really good reasons why the OP should consider the PS3.
And Warhawk is an excellent third person shooter/driving/flying game! i'm a tank master in that game!

Huh? So you want him to pay $400, plus the cost of 2 of those games, just for those 2 games? I think that's a major reason to stick with the shooters he already has with the 360 exclusives and multiplats.
I didn't really give any reason why he should get a PS3 out of my post.... unless he has to have large matches, which really just depends on the person. For the most part the larger the game, the less organized, less enjoyable the experience.
All things considered, and after attempting the PS360 shooters strategy myself, I would have just stayed with the 360 had I had this knowledge before hand.
