As usual, Dodece, your post is well written. I'm not as optimistic as you are about Microsoft spending the cash to secure these games but maybe I'm a bit pessimistic. I don't know what it would take from a financial perspective, but I suspect the numbers would have to be quite big. FFXIII is quite far off and they have time on that one... MGS4 is so far along in development, I don't think they could force an exclusive this late in the game -- maybe simultaneous launch at best. I would think that grabbing FFXIII exclusivity would be a major coup and, as you said, may push Sony off the cliff...
