Fact is that aiming in mass effect has little to do with aiming in shooters, it is the way to select what enemy to attack. If you watch closely you'll see that even if the player is waaay off target, you still hit your enemy. Headshots/different damage areas and similair does not exist, and you can pause the combat any time you want. On top of this is the epic storyline and the more than two full novels worth of interactive conversations. A non linear story with multiple endings and countless choises that will change the world. A whole galaxy to explore.
