The problem with that is he can't get into it very well when he has to wait a week between episodes. Works for those of us who watch anime all the time, but not people who are trying to start it up for the first time.

Don't do DBZ. It will drive you away from anime forever. In fact, never watch DBZ. Once DBK is completed, watch that. Just never watch DBZ.

Cowboy Bebop is a great start. If you want something else similar, I actually generally recommend Outlaw Star before Cowboy Bebop because people don't build up those ridiculous expectations for it.

DBZ was my first anime and I loved it, I remember coming home everyday after school to see the next episode.. It's what got me into anime. Also, arn't you supposed to watch it weekly? I believe teh internetz have spoiled you :P.

 

 

You had nothing better to compare it to, and it is very nostalgic.  Of course you love it.  DBZ is way too drawn out.  It makes Naruto looked fast-paced.
