That is if the split between Tomonobu Itagaki and Team Ninja/Tecmo hasn't made licensing of the property difficult. I don't know if Mr. Itagaki had licensing to the property before Tecmo took Team Ninja or not. If not then the property will be fine. Question is do you even want a DOA when he isn't involved in its creation.
