What ones before the current decade?
Well first go back to the list I recommended for Rubang. Those are mostly "modern classics." Get through those, then we'll talk. Watch FLCL too.
I've been watching anime for 10 years, it's not like I can just list out everything I've seen. I have plenty I can recommend you though in all genres. Also name one anime you've watched that's not shonen.
