Anyone who thinks the "FFXIII coming to the 360" announcement was not a big deal last year wasn't looking at too many message boards that day or during the following week. People were threatening to sell their PS3s, boycott all Sony products, and even just stop gaming completely. Some even went as far as to say that they wouldn't even buy the game because it was going multi plat and that MS was ruining the series.
Microsoft and Nintendo know that Sony is going to have a good E3. It's not like they're not paying attention. I don't think Nintendo takes Sony very seriously at this point, but MS definitely does. And I 100% guarantee you that MS is going to try to announce things this year that really shake up E3 and avert peoples' attention away from Sony.
While Sony has been announcing and hyping some of these upcoming titles for literally YEARS (meaning they're not going to be a huge surprise to anyone and may not even come out when they're supposed to) MS has kept things quiet on most games until they're REALISTICALLY close to being released. They said last year that they were anticipating a big 2009 for Sony as far as software releases and price drops. You can't honestly think they're not prepared for this. I'm sure they're very excited to unleash hell on Sony at E3. But in the end it's up to the gamers to decide who has a better show.
