I only pay 40... and I get more benefits than just the ability to play online or did you forget the fact that gold users were playing Resident Evil 5 two weeks before PS3 and Xbox 360 Silver members. While I do have a wifi I would prefer that I had wired... playing Wifi is like playing with fire... you will be burned eventually.
edit: I think you'll see that wifi is a goner soon enough... it'll be the next thing on the chopping block to reduce cost.
