Do PS3 have potential for doing 40k+ consistently in Japan after price drop

i thought the only reason it was up high was because of new big releases and now going back to the 10k range? I mean didn't resident evil 5 and some other big games come out in japan recently. was it like yakuza 3 or something as well.
