Well actually most PS2 owners stayed PS2 owners and haven't bought a new console. People are still actually choosing to pay for PS2s over any of the newer consoles.
I expect the Wii to go the same way. It can easily put a dent in all 3 consoles next generation, and many people won't upgrade. They've got Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and a handful of other games, the entire Virtual Console to explore, and they're set for life.
But I also agree with Gamerace, and think the new Wii fans might be a little more loyal because they've never used a dual analog controller and don't want to.
So in conclusion, I have no idea.
