I really liked the game personally. Sure there was a lack of polish... and yes there isn't a lot of positive things to say about the story... and maybe, just maybe, the cutscenes did look like they came straight out of an esurance commercial... but that doesn't mean the game still wasn't fun to play.
I actually liked how they approached combat too. It made sense that a 120 pound asian women wouldn't be able to take on a squad of heavily armed soldiers straight on (though once you got the hang of disarms you're almost unstoppable). There's a high learning curve, but once you get past it the combat becomes a nice break from the running and jumping instead of a chore.
I dunno, maybe I just give extra credit to games that try something new.
