I read up until, "Fantasy Versus XIII might actually outsell Final Fantasy XIII in the Western world," facepalmed, and closed the tab on my browser.
Its a fairly established fact that its a spinoff. Let me put it this way; if Versus was actually called Final Fantasy 14, then it wouldn't be a spinoff. A spinoff is anything OTHER then a series mothership title.
Something being a spinoff doesn't mean its bad, it just means its not a mothership title. Like FFX-2, or ToS: DotNW, those are spinoffs.

Yeah... they say they're treating both equally... but they put the V At the end of it.
Had they really wanted them to both be considered equal they should of named them both.
