I don't trust anyone. lol. I goto Metacritic. Read why the top reviewer gave it a high score and why the bottom reviewer gave it a low one (maybe read a middle one too). Then I go to Amazon.com and read what people who bought the game thought.
Ultimately, if the game is fun, I don't care if it's flawed as long as it's provides enough hours of enjoyment to justify it's price tag. Some I wait to become cheaper since the value proposition isn't there yet (Tenchu, Madworld), some I'll get right away (GTA:CW).
