Yes; because of my A-level grades and the fact I love the scientific method and learning new things more than most other people I know. I want to study Physics at uni, not to get a job (because real physics jobs are rare and low-paid) but just to learn why e.g. general relativity and quantum mechanics work.
IQ isn't worth anything. It tests your ability to do IQ tests. IQ tests done outside of a controlled environment by a psychologist don't even test that. The ones on the web tell us what we want to hear for advertising revenue.
