Some questions
1) Where will Sony get the money for this price cut? They certainly can't afford one outside of Japan because of the strong value of the Yen, if they have a price cut in Japan only, the worldwide sales will not change much, because even doubling sales in japan could be matched by a small percentage loss of sales due to customers waiting for the price cut to come world wide
2) Agreed that this is the best way to do it. But if they switch immediately then you are asking them to not reveal a single unrevealed game for 12-18 months. If they do this, people will believe Sony are dropping support for the PS3.
3) Yes, advertising is good. But obviously as MAG and Infamous will not sell much, it doesn't make sense to give them a huge advertising budget. They need to advertise the consoles, as well as GT and FF.
4) Agreed, games are good. I'm sure Sony are putting 100% in, and the only ways they could get more games is to hire more developers, which would be a huge short term and long term investment, which I don't think Sony is looking for at the moment.
I think you are oversimplifying things, and demanding too much from Sony
Edit: I just realised you didn't write this. Replace all instances of the word 'you' with 'the author'
