Guys, guys, guys. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. "breaking the bank" is referring to the fact that all of the cash flow that M$ currently has will be poured into Crackdown 2 and Halo 4. It will be the two most glorifying moments in gaming.

Actually, the context in which Aaron Greenberg made the comment that they might "break the bank" at E3 doesn't have anything to do with money at all. It's hilarious how badly everyone is misinterpreting that simple statement. The context was about "breaking the bank" and talking about games and features that won't be released in the next 6 months, as opposed to what Microsoft normally does at E3.

It was Phil Spencer, head of MGS that made the comment. And he did mean 'breaking the bank' in the context of spending more money to talk about things further out into the future. Im guessing possibly end of 2010/early 2011 announcements - which in my mind should mean Halo news.

Oops. Got my MGS heads mixed up. I stand corrected on that, but it still doesn't change the fact that the context of the statement was referring to making long-term announcments, not making announcments that cost a lot of money.

"The last two E3s, at least - if I use that a proxy for what's coming, we've talked a lot about what is in the next five to six months after the E3, and we've had some pressure that maybe we want to think a little broader about what we're gonna say at E3, a little further out in the future."

"So I came out of an E3 planning meeting just about an hour ago, and we're looking at some of the plans for the future and things that we might want to tease, and it's very exciting because there's a lot of stuff on the way, and maybe we'll break the bank a little bit and talk about things that are further out, which'll hopefully get the community excited."
