Sony was forced to extend their repair/replacement warranty to include all consoles produced from launch through 2003, if they broke due to varying problems before the end of 2005.

360 it's in it 4 year,

There were even problems with the re-launch slim model in late 2004, I am pretty sure some 2003 models had problems too... Sure the failure rate for PS2 isn't overall as bad as X360, but 3 years in PS2 wasn't doing that great.

Although this new E74 thing isn't going to help X360 catch up.
