Oh god. Is this Killzone 2 all over again? How about you get used to the way the game plays instead of trying to make it play like another one? This is like people saying Bionic Commando Rearmed sucks because it does not include a jump button! o_O This is what I still don't understand today: This is the sequel to one of the best games of the last generation. What could they have potentially screwed up with this one? I mean, the mechanics still work, and that's why they don't need to change a working formula. I'd play Gears of War, Uncharted or Dark Sector if I wanted to play a game that lets your character still have good aim while moving (which totally makes sense). ;) |
Though noted, I think the general point the OP is making is about the timing. We live in a day where "revolutionary" games are released quite often with traits that make it very "2009". The step from RE3 to RE4 was HUGE and was very much accepted because of that, and the timing of it was perfect, in a generation that didn't really supercede it's brilliance. in this gen however, you can't help but feel how dated it is. The gaming world is moving along fast, RE5 just didn't (cept for the coat of paint), even though they would feel they are doing it to "stay true to the franchise".
Oh yea the inventory sucks balls too.
