I don't think so. FFXII was in the top 5 in Play magazine's greatest jrpg list of all times that they released a couple of years ago (it might have been in the top 3), and it got a 10 out of 10 review score at Play, a 9.5 at IGN (same as FFX and FFX-2), and was IGN's Playstation 2 Game of the Year for 2006 as well as a 40 out of 40 from Famitsu.
The series is generally only put down by people that don't want to see the Playstation 3 have the same kind of success due to Final Fantasies as past Playstation consoles.
