I apologise to the OP as it was tough reading for me. It was formatted nicely enough, I just found it a tough read.

With that in mind I'd have summed up Sony this generation more concisely as follows. This is a terrible generation for Sony financially so far yet at the end of the day they've sold enough consoles to make the PS3 a valuable competitor in the console market and hence along with it's HD twin they've succeeded in winning third party support. As long as a console gets the games, it keeps the gamers happy and thats what matters most to the general public.

Sony will recover from their financial difficulties soon enough anyway so hopefully they'll make a lot of their money back before the end of the PS3's life, they deserve to because it's a wonderful piece of hardware (even if it was initially priced too high for the normal consumer).

Looking up, I suddenly found out why the OP struggled to make a post that was concide and easy to write, I apologise even more now for my initial lazyness.
