Namco Denies Evidence Of PS3 Tales Of Vesperia Character In 360 Version
Code on game disc and in-game message suggest PS3 character existed at one time in 360 version.

The recent announcement of Tales of Vesperia for PlayStation 3 ruffled a lot of Xbox fan feathers in Japan, especially once it was discovered that a message in the game seemed to hint at new character Patty's existence.
The message, found below, is also in the US edition of the game. In the English version it reads "There's a woman's pirate hat inside the drawer. There's a name on it, but it can barely be read. 'Pa...?'"
A woman pirate? "Pa..."? Circumstantial, to be sure, but only the beginning. Japanese compu-sleuths (illegally) examined the game's ISO image in hex editors, as seen in the top image. In addition to callouts for every existing party member (YUR/Yuri, EST/Estelle, KAR/Karol, RIT/Rita, RAV/Raven, JUD/Judith and RAP/Repede), the mysterious "PAT" can be found. The plot thickens.
Japanese tech news site IT Media yesterday went straight to the source, Bandai Namco, and asked a couple hard questions: Was Patty intended for the 360 version, but cut? Was an enhanced PS3 version planned all along? The official response: "Absolutely not. That text does appear in the game, but it does not refer to Patty". When asked about the possibility of Patty and other PS3-exclusive Vesperia features coming to 360 via DLC, the answer was "That is currently unknown".
So there you have it, Tales fans. Strong circumstantial evidence, perhaps, but officially smacked down. If you're absolutely determined to get Patty on your 360, however, you can always follow the example of this anonymous Japanese 360 fan...
