Yes it's in a death spiral, but that the entire traditional game development that's the problem. PS3 is just the pinnacle of that path. It doesn't matter though. Unless we hit Armageddon Nintendo will keep this generation viable long enough for the Sony and MS to come out with another machine and have a bigger demographic. Unless of course they are stupid and have the PS4 cost $1000.
Also if Sony sticks with the 10year hardware plan(no reference for being first) the PS3 will by the end have made some money. Though it won't be anywhere near on par with PS1 & 2.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
