Wow thanks for reading everybody. So I guess Im not the only one who feel this way. I thought I was just old school or somethin lol. Truthfully though right now I would rather be playing my Genesis, PS1 and Snes than the next gen consoles right now. But I'll give them time b4 Im too harsh on them. :) Just goes to show though... graphics aren't everything.

First of all, awesome avatar (I really need to add mine to vgchartz.)

Yeah, the Genesis/SNES era for me was golden. But remember, the SNES was pretty much guaranteed to be a hit. And Super Mario World is a classic, and everyone had it (since it was a pack in.) I remember flipping through GamePro and noticing reseller ads. SMW was like, $1 to sell, $3 to buy, lol.

But this gen is really weird. Microsoft jumped in early and grabbed an early lead. Nintendo's trying a new control scheme, and they're not aiming for the primary market. Sony's trying a new media format. There are major fears behind each console: X360's games will be the same as the PS1's (but pretty! lol), the Wii won't get enough 3rd party support (plagued the N64 + Gamecube), the PS3 will lose 3rd party support.

My suggestion? Grab a DS. It has games for pretty much any genre you want, it's cheaper than the home consoles, and it'll keep you satisfied until the inital console bloodbath ends.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
