It's not "weak", it's more limited than the Xbox 360's memory architecture.  That's just a fact, though, although the devs can reclaim some memory by lowering the resolution below HD resolutions like they did for the PS3 version.  That probably has more to do with the PS3 having less fill rate than the Xbox 360 than its memory limitations, however.



All hardcore FF fans already have a PS3 because before june 2008 FFXIII was supposed to be PS3 exclusive and FFvsXIII still is. But not everyone that ever bought a FF game is so hardcore they buy a system for it.

There are still people who buy the system when the game actually comes out.  They see the hype, they get excited, they get the system.  A good marketing campaign from Microsoft could give them a huge advantage during that period.
